Location: Remote (Florida Residents Preferred)

MDG, Inc. is a growing civil engineering consulting firm specializing in airport planning, design, and construction administration throughout Florida and beyond. We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer with at least 3 years of experience using Civil 3D to join our team.

This is a remote position, with preference given to candidates located in Florida due to coordination with the FAA, FDOT, and airport clients across the state.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings and plan sets for airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, stormwater systems, and related improvements.
  • Develop grading, drainage, utility, and pavement layout plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to translate design concepts into accurate and constructible plans.
  • Ensure drawings comply with FAA Advisory Circulars, FDOT standards, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, technical exhibits, and preparation of permit and bid documents.
  • Revise drawings based on internal QA/QC reviews and agency comments.
  • Support construction administration efforts by updating record drawings and incorporating field revisions as needed.
  • Maintain organized project files and adhere to MDG drafting standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Civil 3D experience.
  • Strong knowledge of civil site design, particularly for aviation or transportation projects (preferred).
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a team.
