The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program/Project Coordinator, Senior. for the Airside section of Operations. This is administrative work coordinating and administering large-scale programs and/or projects related to the overall Airport Operations - Airside section.  This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities and issues through various means of communication and periodic meetings. The Program/Project Coordinator, Senior will maintain effective working relationships with airport tenants, general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials, and is expected to coordinate and manage operations with considerable independence and initiative.  The Program/Project Coordinator, Senior must be able to communicate effectively and be able to read, review, analyze and draft manuals, letters of agreements, standard operating procedures using proper language, punctuation, grammar, and style.   

 

Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, aeronautical science, aviation management or closely related field.(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.) 
Requires four (4) years of experience in a staff or administrative capacity managing special projects, programs or business operations in an airport/aviation or closely related experience. 

 

Must possess a valid Florida driver's license during employment and maintain authority to drive on County business.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge with a Customs Seal.
Must secure and maintain for the duration of employment - Airfield driving privileges
(movement/nonmovement area driving)

Preferred:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in airport management, business administration, or closely related field.
American Association of Airport Executives, Accredited Airport Executive (AAE), Certified Member (CM), or Airport Certified Employee (AAAE-ACE) in Operations, Communications or Security.
Airports Council International (ACI) Diploma in Airport Operations or International Airport Professional (ACI-IAP)
Experience in Airside Operations at a Large Hub Commercial Service International Airport.
